When I am new to a team, which happened the second time now in four years, I integrate quickly. Once I’ve become used to a new environment, I’m always up for a funny remark. Still, I’m hard-working and persistent and my deep forward passes often create very promising situations. I was told, I’m a calm anchor when I play defense and have a good understanding of the game. Also, I am passionate about competition and challenging my own limits.
I am thrilled to learn from other athletes and coaches in order to work on my own abilities and succeed with the team. The conditions for women’s soccer are unique in the USA. Nowhere else would be a better chance for athletic progression while still being able to concentrate on academics, too. In America, women’s football also has a higher reputation than in Germany. The understanding and respect for women’s soccer in Germany is simply not the same as in the US.
As I experienced in my first year in Rochester, NY, college soccer is the perfect opportunity to effectively combine academics and sports. I want to achieve outstanding results in my classes to maximize my chances for a good future employment while still trying hard to find my athletic limits on the field from day to day. I also hope to further improve my American accent and get proficient in business conversations.
It is a big dream of mine to play in a big stadium once. I hope to improve my ability to defend technically strong and fast forwards and stay calm as a center mid – even when I get lots of pressure. After completing my bachelor’s in the US, anything could be possible, in the long term, I plan to settle in Europe though. But I want to see where life takes me before that.
Besides playing soccer, I really like playing the guitar and singing, skiing, mountain biking, and some other kinds of team ball sports.
