Why Is Blogging So Popular?
There are several reasons why entrepreneurs have turned to blogging.

Search engines love new content, and as a result, blogging is a great search engine optimization (SEO) tool.
Blogging provides an easy way to keep your customers and clients up-to-date on what’s going on, let them know about new deals, and provide tips. The more a customer comes to your blog, the more likely they are to spend money.
A blog allows you to build trust and rapport with your prospects. Not only can you show off what you know, building your expertise and credibility, but because people can post comments and interact with you, they can get to know you, and hopefully, will trust you enough to buy from you.
Blogging is flexible and portable, making it a great option for people who be a lifestyle entrepreneur.

Is there a Downside to Blogging?
Blogging is popular because it works as a marketing tool and makes money. But blogging isn’t all rainbows and unicorns in the world of online income. Before starting a blog as a means to make money or to promote your existing business, you should consider these potential downsides:

Blogging requires a great deal of time. For blogs to be effective at SEO and engaging readers, it needs to be updated regularly. The Internet is littered with abandoned blogs that haven’t been updated in months or even years. The success of blogging comes from having people return, and they only return when there’s new stuff to read. That means generating content at least several times a week, which takes time.
You need ideas to write about. To keep the content coming, you have to have ideas to write about. The good news is that you don’t have to write it all. You can have guest writers or hire freelancers. Another option is to curate content from others or do an alternative post, such as using video. Finally, you can buy private label right (PLR) content, and modify it for posting on your blog.

Youtube

Example: Youtube Channel >

YouTube is the second largest search engine. With 5 billion video views being watched each day this is one of those marketing channels you wish you started using sooner. The average mobile user spends 40 minutes watching YouTube videos showing a high level of engagement. How to video searches keep climbing up making tutorials one of the most popular types of videos you can create.

While it can be hard to stand out on the platform, only 9% of American small businesses market their brand on the platform. You can give your brand a competitive advantage by marketing on YouTube. This can be done by creating how to videos, vlogs, interviews, webinars, screencast videos or product reviews. You can choose to monetize your channel with ads, links to your products or both. Product links can be added in the video description to drive potential customers to your online store.

Cross-Channel Promote

While an essential component to a successful content strategy for affiliate marketing is to utilize online copywriting and SEO best practices to attract search traffic, few will be successful without the basic semblance of a cross-channel marketing campaign. The healthy flow of qualified traffic is the fuel that powers the affiliate marketing machine, and the best way to expand your reach, increase exposure, and forge deeper connections is through multi-channel engagement.

From building a communications list for direct email marketing, to promoting your content via social channels and online media outreach, the idea is to get all of your actions and efforts working in unison to build your audience and promote your brand

With the rise in popularity of online marketing, many proven offline methods are simply forgotten when marketing campaigns are planned. Of course, online marketing is hugely important in today’s Internet-connected world, but offline engagement with customers still has unique and distinct value that shouldn’t be forgotten.

Speak at events/ hold presentations for:

  • Schools/Universities
  • Clubs
  • Coaches
  • Players

Word of mouth:

Word-of-mouth marketing (WOM) is a powerful asset in our line of work. It not only piques people’s interest, but as the name implies, it gets people talking.

About 62% of consumers search online for reviews and information before purchasing a product and a whopping 90% believe brand recommendations from friends.

With game-changing numbers like those, it’s important not to neglect the importance of reviews, ratings, and recommendations when it comes to planning your organization’s marketing strategy

Cold Calls:

Because of today’s faceless interaction, customers greatly appreciate brands that can offer a “personal touch.” Cold calls allow you to do that. Forget all your doubts and apprehensions about cold calling, because you might just gather a couple of potential customers who are ready to convert any time.

To ensure that this endeavor becomes successful, carefully plan out your objective, message, and timing. It takes a little practice and confidence to get it done right.

Communicate with Local Print Publications/Newspaper

Despite the consistent rise in online media, print is still effective. Pitch a press release to a magazine or newspaper that targets your audience. Press releases are a simple way to showcase an important event or milestone for your business, and the right publication could land you valuable attention. Stay active and form as many relationships with the press as possible—they’ll come in handy.

There’s no need to generate a URL for your personal page, as it’s already registered under your name.

Open the generated URL in a different browser or on your mobile device.

Check the status in your Dashboard under the Statistics or Referrals tab.

An affiliate (that’s you) referral link/URL is the special link used to promote a website or product. It includes your unique affiliate ID or username, allowing the system to track visits and conversions made through your link. If someone completes a conversion (like a sale or form submission), you earn a commission.

There are two main ways to create your affiliate referral link:

  1. Generate it in your Affiliate Area

    • Log in to your Affiliate Area

    • Paste any page URL from the website into the Page URL field

    • Click “Generate URL”

  2. Manually add your ID to any link

    • Example: http://mywebsite.com/product-1/?ref=123

    • Replace “123” with your unique affiliate ID

You can share these referral links on your website, social media, emails, or anywhere else you want to promote the site.

Affiliates can use their referral link to promote products on any social media platform, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and more.

When a customer clicks your link and lands on the website, your affiliate ID (e.g., 123) is stored in a cookie in the customer’s browser. If the customer makes a purchase, you’ll be awarded a commission for the sale.

Each time a referral is generated, it is assigned a status. There are four possible statuses:

  • Pending – The referral has been generated but is not yet confirmed.

  • Unpaid – The referral is confirmed and awaiting payout to the affiliate.

  • Rejected – The referral was reviewed and declined.

  • Paid – The referral has been successfully paid to the affiliate.

Absolutely! Since the affiliate’s ID is stored in a cookie, the affiliate is tracked across all pages on the site.

The cookie’s expiration is set to 14 days. Please note that users can clear their browser cookies at any time, which would stop the tracking. To reduce the risk of losing referrals, it’s important to run campaigns consistently. Additionally, customers will have the option to select your name during checkout to ensure you receive credit.

Go to Affiliate URLs in your dashboard.

  1. In the Page URL field, paste any URL from the athletesusa.org network.

  2. (Optional) Enter a campaign name to track specific promotions.

  3. Click Generate URL.

  4. Open the generated link in a different browser or on your mobile device to test it.

From building a communications list for direct email marketing to promoting your content through social channels and online media outreach, the goal is to align all your actions and efforts to grow your audience and promote your brand effectively.
