I had never thought that I would go to college in the US when I was young. The main reason why I decided to study abroad is I had an opportunity to participate in the Annika Invitational in Florida when I was in 1st grade of high school. This was my first time playing in a golf tournament in the US. I was surprised that there were amazing practice facilities and environments that I could easily access. Also, I was a beginner in English at that time, so I wanted to be able to communicate with other players in English. After I decided to study abroad in the US, I transferred to high school in Florida. Following high school graduation, I joined the golf team at the University of Washington (Division 1). 

I studied sports psychology because I struggled with my mental game, and I was curious about how other student-athletes have a stable mind-body connection when they play their sports.

I was worried about my English level before I went to college, but there were many people who helped me to improve. I know studying abroad is a challenge but let me tell you that a lot of great experiences are waiting for you. We at Athlete USA will do our best to support you!

私は小さい頃、まさか自分がアメリカにゴルフ留学するとは考えたこともありませんでした。ゴルフ留学をしようと決めた主な理由は、高校1年生の時にアメリカのAJGAの試合のアニカ ソレンスタムプロが主催する招待試合に参戦させて頂くことができ、初めてアメリカで試合をして、アメリカのゴルフ施設、環境にとても驚いたからです。それから、その時まだ英語があまり話せなかったので、英語でもっと他の選手と会話をしたいと思ったこともあります。ゴルフ留学を決めた後は、フロリダにある高校に転校しました。卒業後、ワシントン州シアトルにあるワシントン大学の女子ゴルフチームに所属しました。大学ではスポーツ心理学を学びました。私は自分のメンタルゲームにとても苦労し、他の学生アスリートはどのように安定したメンタリティを保持しているのか興味を持ったからです。

大学入学前は自分の英語力にとても不安がありましたが、たくさんの方のお陰で上達することが出来ました。留学することは勇気のいることですが、本当に素晴らしい経験があなたを待っています。アスリートUSAはあなたを全力でサポートします。
