Interview

Having played in Europe for the past 3 years, my style combines the speed and flair of the South African game, with the Strength, Directness and Tactical Understanding of the European Game. Having been in a professional 1st team environment since I was 17 I know how to carry myself and perform at the elite level with no uncertainty. Captaining all my school/club teams since grade 9 shows my leadership at a young age. Being Captain of the reserve team as a foreigner shows my leadership ability and further more my understanding for the game. I have been living alone without my parents since I was 16 showing my mental strength and willingness to achieve my goals and that nothing can hold me back. My academic excellence is spread over a wide-spectrum from the logical understanding of physics, computers and mathematics to the creativity of art and the linguistics of English, Afrikaans and Greek. These attributes and characteristics a long with my mindset to buckle down and work hard in both football and academics, I feel set me a part from the rest

I feel college sport is a great environment to keep you mentally stimulated throughout the entire day and is a place where we can work towards our goals as a collective unit/team, whether it may be academic or sports related. It allows you to wake up each morning with a purpose and goal which you can set out to achieve with supportive people by your side. I feel this is a perfect environment for me and I seek to take full advantage of it by obtaining my studies and the possibility of being drafted in the years to come.

My Goals would be to Play at the highest level possible and be Drafted into the MLS. My goals for my college years are to be the stand out personality and performer in the classroom and on the soccer pitch. I’d like to graduate with the best marks possible and possibly study further.

My footballing Goals would be to play in the MLS and try and work my way to my final goal of playing Premier League Football and making a positive impact on those around me while I do so. My life goals include inspiring youngsters and especially people from my background that anything Is possible. God willing post retirement I set up a world renowned international academy allowing for more opportunities to those from underprivileged/overlooked backgrounds similar to mine in South Africa.

I’ve collected many awards over my academic year but those that stand out would include:
– Being academic scholar since grade 7 (80% and above)
– Graduating with and academic excellence certificate (92.5% and above)
– Doing my two year sport science course after schooling hours and finishing with a 97.5 average.
