I love sports. I started skiing when I was 4 years old, swimming when I was 3, waterskiing at 6 years old, attended sailing and windsurfing camps and played in soccer and basketball teams in my school for several years. These sports did not only help me improve my knowledge of the athletic world but they also helped me build my body for the future and the sport that I currently do. The first time I was on the school basketball team, my coach had benched me, and during the whole game, I thought about what I needed to improve on. Being selected to Telekom Baskets made basketball my passion and impacted me to decide to study Sports Management. So my dream was shaped after this realization, and, to become a great basketball player, now I needed to act.
I am a hard worker, so I started to practice as much as I can to become better, to jump higher and to be quicker. On the court, I am fully concentrated on using my knowledge and skills in order to react smartly at every moment.
The importance of college sports in developing necessary skills to succeed in the professional athletic field is indubitable. As a kid who grew up watching NCAA and NBA, I had the opportunity to pursue the career and development of multiple athletes, such as John Wall and Trae Young, to observe first hand the contribution of college sports to their development, not to mention how fun it is and how it brings you to the next level. While participating at Cedi Osman Academy of basketball and being a member of Talentschmiede 53 made me work hard to become a better athlete and student throughout this ongoing process, since then, I have been training and working everyday just to achieve my goal of one day making it to a college basketball team, which I believe will pave me the way for a future career in Basketball for the short term and a professional sports manager in the long term. I believe that as long as I am giving my best, my basketball coaches will help and support me to become the top prospect and show me in the right direction to become the best athlete, sportsman and person I can become. Academically I want to study sport management or business management where Sports Management is not offered for bachelors degree as I want to work in the sports industry after my basketball career, and I think that delving into the world of college sports while I study will give me the necessary headstart to succeed in the highly competitive domain of professional sports.
My goals are to become the best athlete and student I can become. This is what I will work for and look up to. My main goal is to grow up as a good athlete and human to get prepared and work hard for a professional career in basketball and become a great business man.
Career-wise I want to be a professional basketball player in one of the top leagues, ideally in the US. After ending my professional player career I would like to continue working in the sports industry.
I want to be a happy, healthy person, having a family, enjoying life balance, being with my friends and beloved people around me, and being a socially and environmentally aware and responsible person in my community and environment.
At the beginning of 2019/2020 season, I was selected as the team captain of the Telekom U16 team. I worked hard to always motivate my team and push all my teammates to their limits. My main tasks were to make sure that the coach’s directions are applied on the court plus the team plays harmoniously. I am proud of what we all accomplished together as we came in 2nd at the end of the season and were on our way to play the Germany Cup Final which got cancelled due to COVID-19.
I am very proud of what I accomplished in basketball in a short time, such as being selected into a U20 team, attending two basketball tournaments in the US in the summer of 2020 (got cancelled due COVID-19). This was important to me as a lot of division 1 & 2 college coaches attend these tournaments, which makes this selection very prestigious. Moreover, I was delighted at the prospect of being one of the youngest players to be selected.
I did my work experience in Telekom Baskets in Grade 10 where I supported the organisation with youth coaching, workout planning and with the paperwork, which helped me familiarise myself with the administrative side of sports management.
