My mother is Japanese and my father is Norwegian. I have been playing golf in Europe, the US, and in Japan since I was 4 years old. I went to both Norwegian and Japanese elementary schools before I got accepted to the golf program at Wang. I’m therefore tri-lingual. I’m a hard worker and I strive to get better every day in order to reach my goals.
Some of my home town golfers (Viktor Hovland, Kristoffer Ventura etc.) went to college in the US and were able to pursue their passion for golf while also getting an education. Sports and academics are more intertwined in the US than over here in Europe, and for many young golfers it’s an opportunity to transition into a professional golf career. My parents both went to college in the US, and it’s always been what I’ve wanted to do as well.
My goal in college is to learn and grow academically, as a golf player and as a person. I would like to study either business or computer science. I would also like to experience what it is like to play team golf at the highest levels and be part of the deep rooted traditions of American golf. I really got a taste for American golf when I played at Pinehurst and competed at the Doral Junior Classic.
I would like to get a great education and to graduate from a top US college/university while pursuing my dream of becoming a professional golf player on the PGA Tour.
