Interview

I consider myself a person of integrity and committed to my responsibilities. I like to learn new things and teach others what little I know. I consider myself a good leader, a good person both on and off the court. I like to work to achieve big goals.

I like the way they support a student-athlete. It is a great help for those of us who want to finish university studies and at the same time continue practicing our sport.

athletically I want to be NCAA champion, reach my best soccer level and compete professionally in any league in the world, graduate with good averages from university and be an intellectual and professional person in all areas of life.

sportingly, I would like to compete at the highest level possible. represent the national team of my country and get many collective and individual trophies. and academically I would like to graduate with very good grades, do social service or contribute to something with aid, and finally become a professional person both in academics and in sports

I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old, being able to be part of the under 12 national team, academies and basic forces of great teams in my country. In August 2016 I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, it was a drastic blow for me who had been an athlete all my life and took care of my diet. After leaving the hospital, the first thing I asked myself was, will I play soccer again? many doctors and endocrinologists told me “No” while few people and only one doctor told me “Yes, you can do everything just like the rest” time gave me the answer and I am fortunate to say that 6 years later being a type 1 diabetic I have been able to be part of the under 20 national team of my country, I have been able to train and share a dressing room with players from the highest category of soccer in my country and I have been one of them. Thanks to this disease I have been able to be a more disciplined and committed person with what I do in my goals as a person and a player. Today I greatly admire 2 people who compete in the elite of world football who are also type 1 diabetics, one of them is Nacho Fernández, a Real Madrid player, and I always say to myself “if he has been able to compete alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, because I don’t” every day is a new challenge for my life and I try to take advantage of everything that God and life has given me.
