I played in the 2015 U19 Bayhill tournament for Stellenbosch University, we made it to the plate section. We didn’t make it to the knock outs stages after we drew 1-1 with Swansea and therefore they went through on goal difference.
I have great passion for soccer and I am determined not to give up. Currently, I am training every day of the week, sometimes even twice.
Because of my commitment to my sport I don’t smoke or drink and try to stay healthy and fit. However, I enjoy a social life and I am a great team player on and off the pitch. I am also good at learning from my mistakes and constantly absorbing information to become a better soccer player.
During my high school career, I’ve always wanted to go overseas and play soccer. Once I left school, I thought it would be great to study and play soccer at the same time, but then I heard about the scholarship program through my goalkeeper coach.
Also, I played with Dante Lamb in my junior days and since he has been playing at the Rhodes Island University I have been following him via Facebook and have become very interested in college soccer.
Now that I may have the opportunity to study in America, I am highly motivated to work hard on the pitch, as well as, in the classroom. Although I do not have any specific preferences as to what I want to study, I have an interest and aptitude in the natural sciences (chemistry and physics), as well as, the human sciences especially psychology. I am also interested in how things work and technology.
Mainly, my goal is to get a college education in which, alongside playing soccer, I can successfully study courses which are interesting and challenging.
I aspire to a career of professional soccer, which I would also, be interested in teaching.
My life goal is to do some good in the world.
My Grandfather’s sister is an American citizen who is a senior lawyer practicing in San Francisco. She would be willing to vouch for me if it would be helpful.
