NCAA D2SoccerDM, CMFall 2019, Spring 2020
In my youth I played for two German professional teams (Eintracht Frankfurt and Hannover 96) and attended a soccer specific boarding school. Later, I had to decide whether I focus on my sports or academic career. In the end, I chose education.

Interview

I am ambitious in every situation in life. Whether in sports or in college. This means that I am willing to do the best I can to support not just me but also everyone around me. I am an honest person that doesn’t hesitate to shoulder responsibility. Especially in soccer, due to my tactical knowledge and my game overview, I am the right one my coach and my team mates can count on.
The biggest strength I have is the ability to structure the game of my team. I support where I can to let the people around me shine. I characterize myself as a true passing machine. Due to my great anticipation I am a very good tackler, too.

I want to compete in college because unlike in Germany in the US you get supported in both sports and learning. This offers the possibility to combine soccer and education on a professional level.
Further, in the US you don’t just practice with your team mates, you do a lot more than that. You also learn and live together. This fact strengthens the connection within the team and, in addition, everyone gets integrated way better in his new home.

Another important point for me is that I want to compete with other teams throughout the US to see what my team is capable of. It is interesting for me to get to know which level other soccer players in the country possess.

My main goal is to be a part of a great and successful soccer team where I will have an impact on our progress.
In addition, learning new and interesting things for my academic career and graduating with good grades are important for me as well.
Hopefully, I will improve myself in both the athletic and academic area to become a more adult and responsible person.

I hope I can improve my soccer skills as well as my academic knowledge in college. These facts shall lead, on the one hand, to my graduation in the US with my master’s degree and, on the other hand, to a successful time with my soccer team.

Furthermore, I hope in the future I will get a well-paid job where I can use my hard-earned knowledge to become a successful and happy person in life. If possible I would like to do something that is related to sports.
