Interview

I have been playing soccer my entire life and have never stopped loving the game. I am very committed to my soccer and rarely miss any training as I am always eager to learn. I’ve been coached by many top goalkeeper coaches (incl. Maarten Aarts, ex-coach of Michel Vorm & Carlo Nash, ex-Manchester City goalkeeper & current Oldham Athletic goalkeeper coach). I have gained some overseas experience by attending many of goalkeeper camps all over Europe and playing soccer last season in Holland, Portugal and England. My strong points are 1-on-1s, penalties, my fitness level is high, my work-rate in training and during games is very high and I am built like a goalkeeper (tall and strong).

There are a lot of coaches that tell me that the USA is where we need to go as soccer there is growing fast, and you can clearly see that. College Soccer is a perfect way to begin my journey in American soccer. I also want to obtain a degree in order to have something to fall back on in case of failure/career-ending injuries.

To study what I want to study, to get the highest achievable marks in what I am studying and to obtain a degree, so that I can work after my soccer career.

I want to have a reward for all my hard work, dedication and all my hours of training I have done in soccer. Hopefully that reward can be studying in USA, because if I didn’t play soccer, I wouldn’t have been able to get the opportunity to study in USA. And if I do make it into college soccer, I will try my best to get into the top leagues of college soccer and hopefully end up becoming a professional player.

I have participated in many sports, like rugby, cricket, water polo, tennis, golf, body boarding and others. I can also speak three languages (English, German and Afrikaans).
